Resources Mechanic
In Metamancers, metals are a fundamental and versatile resource used to unlock abilities. Each metal type is associated with a specific color and indicated on the right side of cards. There are five distinct metal colors: Gold, Silver, Iron, Copper, and Platinum. To access these metals, players employ a unique board token known as Crucible, it is the key tool used to melt cards to extract these molten metals, and this process is referred to as melt, resulting in molten metals like molten silver, molten iron and so on.
Molten metals are a precious resource symbolizing the connection to the Aether’s Flux, they lie at the heart of Metamancers' magical abilities, offering a wide array of possibilities for players to explore during the game, avoiding the lack of resources typical found in other games' resource mechanics. Strategic use of these molten metals is vital to mastering the art of Metamancy and achieving success in the game.
Along the game you can store molten metals using colored D6 dice (included in your box) or counters, tokens etc. Alternatively you can place melted cards on the board and use their resources during the game, tracking remaining resources in dice of the corresponding metal color. I personally love this method.

Talents
In Metamancers, players have the exciting opportunity to level up their Metamancer and enhance their gameplay experience through the use of talent cards. These talent cards are acquired using experience points (XP), which players can earn by casting spells during their turns.
Every turn a player casts at least one spell, they earn 1 XP at the end of that turn. This encourages strategic spellcasting and rewards active participation in the game. With accumulated XP, players can invest in powerful talent cards to level up their Metamancer.
